Biology week 2026 : Molecular biology and neurosciences

The Life Science Learning Center in Zurich opens its doors to you! For five days, you will discover more about the human brain and neuroscience imaging techniques.

The courses this year will be about:

• Neurostimulation
• Brain imaging and monitoring
• Synaptic plasticity
• Sleep research

The detailed programme will be sent to you after the registrations.

Who can participate? High school students aged 16 and over from all over Switzerland who will pass their high school diploma (maturity) in 2026, 2027 or 2028.

Conditions: For a complete application, the registration form on this page (on the right, in red under downloads/links) must be fully completed and the following documents must be sent by 13 May 2026, 12:00 noon, to biologyweeks@scnat.ch:

1) Letter of motivation

2) CV

3) Letter of recommendation from a (biology) teacher

4) For minors: form for the legal guardian, to be downloaded from the registration page

Responsibilities: There will be no supervision outside of course hours. Participants under the age of 18 are under the responsibility of their legal representatives.

Selection of participants: There is no right to participation. Only complete applications submitted on time will be considered. If the number of registrations exceeds the number of available places, a draw will be held among all applications demonstrating strong motivation.

Please note that students who have already participated in a Biology Week will only be selected if sufficient places are available.

Students will be informed about their participation by 28 May 2026 at the latest.
